I became passionate about genealogy while researching my own family tree with my Mum when I was about 15, more than 20 years ago. I have helped many others connect to the branches of their own past as a genealogist and family historian and hope I can help you too.
Family history goes beyond just names and dates in a chart. Uncovering the stories of our ancestors and their experiences helps us to understand where we have come from and what has shaped our past

This deposit is 100% refundable (or part thereof) if record purchases are not required. I will then contact you after an initial research period to discuss proceeding and payment terms.
After an initial 5 hours of research, if it appears I am unable to locate enough records and information to meet your expected outcome, I will contact you to discuss options for proceeding. The initial deposit paid will be forefeit to cover the time spent searching and copies of any records or information found.

'Branches Family History with Lynda is a boutique small business that offers a very personal service. If you are like me and find the history of your ancestors fascinating, but never have the time to do the research, then Lynda is just the person you need. The process can be very time consuming, and the problem is knowing just where to look. There are now thousands of places where you can find information. It can take not hours or weeks but years.
Lynda has the professional qualification and the experience to investigate in as much detail as you wish about a person’s family history and then present it in a professional dossier that you and members of your wider family will find enlightening, both good and not so good. And she will do it an awful lot faster than you can.
Lynda also can get the detail of your family members service to our country in past conflicts, which is almost now lost from personal experience, as returned service personnel pass away. Wonderful history to pass to future generations. '

I live and work in Central Victoria if you would like to arrange a chat.
Born in 1977 in Bendigo, I became interested in my family history when my Mum discovered a convict ancestor. This was before the internet made searching for records so much easier.
As more and more records started to become available online, my skills grew along with the available resources.

Having spent many years building my own family stories, from my convict ancestors on my Mother's side to my Scottish ancestor's on my Dad's side, I began to branch out (pardon the pun) into helping others and found I enjoyed it as much as researching my own family.
Helping others to connect soon became more than a hobby and I undertook formal study through the University of Tasmania and launched Branches Family History soon after.
I love all aspects of researching people and places and have a strong interest in the building of stories and not just names and dates.
